Knife and sheath


Knife and sheath – attributable to the Cheyenne nation – ca. late 19th century. Original and branded “Ontario Knife” knife, wooden handle with excellent patina from the historical period. Sheath made of leather, probably deer tanned in the traditional way with brains and smoked, seams of the sheath in animal sinew, and decoration of Venetian glass beads of 1800, with, in the center, thin cones and small feathers.
